Strategic Dialogue with the Former Heads of UNPOG (2 September 2026, Seoul, Republic of Korea) September 03, 2026

UNPOG/DPIDG convened a Strategic Dialogue with its former Heads on 2 September in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The Dialogue marked UNPOG’s 20th anniversary and brought together six former Heads of UNPOG. The event provided a platform to reflect on UNPOG’s achievements and lessons learned over the past two decades, while gathering perspectives to inform its future strategic direction. Discussions emphasized strengthening internal capacity, ensuring organizational sustainability, and deepening governance engagement with developing countries. The Dialogue generated a shared understanding of UNPOG’s history, produced recommendations for enhancing governance partnerships, and offered inputs to shape the operational framework for UNPOG’s third phase (2030–2045). As a follow-up, UNPOG/DPIDG will invite the former Heads to participate in the official 20th Anniversary event to be held on 7 September, as well as the 10th Regional Symposium on Effective Governance and AI Transformation from 25 to 27 November in Incheon, Republic of Korea.
