Background
The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG), and its Project Office on Governance (UNPOG) will organise a webinar to introduce the newly launched eLearning Course on "Effective National to Local Public Governance for SDG Implementation" (Toolkit).
Based on the UN DESA Curriculum on Governance for the SDGs, the Toolkit was developed in 2021 focusing on strengthening public institutions at national and local level to promote more consistent implementation of SDGs.
In 2023, the toolkit has been converted into a self-paced eLearning course available to all interested policymakers, practitioners, and interested stakeholders for free on the UN DESA Digital Learning Centre and the UNSSC Blue Line platform. The eLearning Course offers accessibility features.
Objectives
This webinar aims to introduce the content, purpose, and accessibility features of the eLearning course on "Effective National to Local Public Governance for SDG Implementation (Foundational and Advanced Courses)". The eLearning courses are designed to enhance institutional effectiveness for SDG implementation and foster an understanding of the importance of SDG localisation, emphasising vertical integration and policy coherence to advance the implementation of SDGs.
