Participation in the Follow-up Meeting on Digital Transformation for SDG Fund in Cambodia (15 August 2023, Virtual)

DPIDG/UNPOG virtually represented UN DESA in the Task Team on Digital Transformation in Cambodia during the follow-up meeting on Digital Transformation for SDG Fund on 15 August 2023. The Meeting was convened by UN RCO in Cambodia and attended by UN agencies including FAO, ITU, OHCHR, UNDP, UNESCAP, UNESCO, UNICEF, and UNIDO. Participants engaged in sense-making and stakeholder mapping exercises with questions and observations for discussions.
During the meeting, participating agencies also discussed to identify and prioritise key issues and opportunities for each building block for digital transformation in Cambodia in the next 2-3 years. DPIDG/UNPOG staff provided following inputs including i) leaving no one behind as an operational principle should guide policy development and implementation in digital transformation, ii) digital ID and CRVS are key for inclusive service delivery and digital government, iii) digital transformation at the subnational level should be part of the national initiative, iv) strengthening capacities at institutional, organizational, individual, and societal levels is critical for digital transformation, and v) building a competency framework for civil servants is important to accelerate digital transformation.
The Chair of the Meeting asked for close partnership with DPIDG/UNPOG of UN DESA for continued efforts to support digital transformation in Cambodia.
