United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Security and Public Administration of the Republic of Korea (MOSPA) hosted the 2nd Global e-Government Forum (GeGF 2013) in Korea, from 21st to 23rd of October 2013. The theme of this year’s forum is “Smart Government, Smart Society: Openness, Sharing, Communication and Collaboration,” and its objectives are as followings:

 

 

Over 1,200 participants, high-level policy-makers, as well as government officials from around the world attended the Forum. Participants include ministers or vice-ministers, managerial-level government officials, representatives from international and regional organizations, the academia, and the private sector. Ministers and vice-ministers who are responsible for e-Government are particularly pertinent and a High-Level Roundtable took place to provide stimulating discussion as well as identify areas of cooperation for digital inclusion and e-government development.
