Launch of the eLearning Course on Risk-informed Governance and Innovative Technology for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience

8 November 2023, Virtual – The United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG) of the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) officially launched the eLearning Course on “Risk-informed Governance and Innovative Technology for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience”.
The launch generated significant interest and participation from 523 online participants from countries across Asia and the Pacific, and African regions. It also featured the presence of Ms. Mami Mizutori, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction.
The self-paced eLearning Course is based on the Toolkit of the same title and part of the UN DESA Curriculum on Governance for the SDGs. It is intended for the capacity development of government institutions and other stakeholders to spearhead innovation and drive DRR and resilience by utilizing ICTs and key frontier technologies.
To ensure inclusive learning, the course has accessibility features and freely available to all interested policymakers, practitioners, and interested stakeholders at the UN DESA Digital Learning Centre.
