Participation at the 24th Session of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (7-10 April 2025, Virtual)

DPIDG/UNPOG took part in the 24th Session of CEPA, held under the theme Governance and institutional perspectives on advancing sustainable, inclusive, science and evidence-based solutions for the SDGs. The session focused on the role of governance in promoting inclusive development and evidence-based policymaking. Meeting 2 reflected on the growing use of AI in public administration, noting significant challenges such as the lack of human talent and technological infrastructure. Transparency and accountability were central themes, with emphasis on the need for clear oversight mechanisms. The role of AI oversight and control institutions was highlighted as key to ensuring ethical and responsible use of AI in government systems. The Principles of Effective Governance for Sustainable Development were reaffirmed as essential for building trust and agility in public institutions. Discussions also stressed policy integration, transparency, participation, the rule of law, and equity, as well as strategies to rebuild trust and prepare future public servants.
