
DPIDG/UNPOG, with support from DGB, contributed to the Inaugural High-Level Conference on Mongolia’s National Strategy for Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. The conference served as a platform to engage key stakeholders—government officials, international experts, and industry leaders—in shaping Mongolia’s AI strategy and positioning the country to advance digital transformation by 2030. DPIDG/UNPOG shared key insights, including elements from the Pact for the Future and its Global Digital Compact, findings from the 2024 Government Survey, and lessons learned from the 8th Regional Symposium on Effective Governance and AI Transformation. The conference discussions emphasized AI’s transformative potential for Mongolia, addressing opportunities and challenges in areas such as ethical AI governance, data privacy, regulatory frameworks, and digital inclusion. Key messages from the 8th Regional Symposium resonated throughout the event, focusing on themes including AI-driven innovation in public administration, digital inclusion to bridge the digital divide, the role of AI in early warning systems, and the importance of robust ethical frameworks.
