UN Mongolia Panel Discussion on Artificial Intelligence Trends and Development (12 February, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia)

DPIDG/UNPOG participated in an informal panel on Artificial Intelligence: Trends and Development, organized by UNDP Resident Representative for the UNCT in Mongolia. The session offered valuable insights from colleagues and experts on the latest AI developments, opportunities, risks, and challenges. Discussions focused on harnessing AI’s power for good while ensuring no one is left behind. Key topics included the role of AI in promoting responsive, reliable, and accountable governance, the use of new AI tools in daily staff work, and youth engagement. Participants from Mongolia raised thoughtful questions on how developing countries like Mongolia can better leverage AI, particularly to address climate impacts. The discussion also covered emerging trends in AI regulations, emphasizing the need for inclusive and forward-looking governance frameworks.
