DPIDG/UNPOG staff virtually attended the 29th Meeting of the Asia Pacific Interagency Working Group (IAWG) on ICT, which serves as an Asia Pacific regional platform for sharing knowledge, good practices and programmes of partner organizations for enhancing the impact of ICT development in the region. Despite a wealth of knowledge and information being accumulated in different organizations, there is limited sharing, resulting in duplicated efforts. The meeting focused on areas of common interest and potential cooperation. It was co-organized by the ITU, UN ESCAP, and the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT). The meeting brought together representatives from ITU, APT, ESCAP, ICAO, WFP, UNHCR, and WMO to strengthen cooperation on digital transformation, inclusion, and disaster resilience across the region. Discussions highlighted key initiatives aimed at bridging the digital divide. Key topics included the role of AI, 5G/6G, space technologies, and data-driven policymaking in shaping inclusive digital ecosystems. DPIDG/UNPOG shared key learnings and insights from the 8th Regional Symposium on Effective Governance and AI Transformation and planned activities in 2025. The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to further strengthen interagency collaboration in 2025.
