The Forum sought to address the existing challenges and gaps in implementing national digital data governance frameworks by enhancing the institutional capacities of developing countries to utilize, manage, and govern data in a comprehensive, objective, and evidence-based manner. It aimed to build awareness and develop institutional capacities in national data governance in developing countries, especially those in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. The Forum brought together ministers and senior government officials including experts from the UN, private sector, civil society, think tanks, and academia, with knowledge and experience in national data governance frameworks, digital transformation, and sustainable development.
DPIDG/UNPOG leveraged the opportunity to build partnerships, create awareness, and promote its capacity development activities and support to member states including the training toolkits and knowledge products on data governance and digital government transformation.
