Courtesy Visit to UNDRR-ONEA & GETI (21 May 2024, Incheon, Republic of Korea)

DPIDG/UNPOG made a courtesy visit to the UNDRR Office for North East Asia and the Global Education Institute to discuss ongoing collaborative activities in 2024. During the meeting, discussions included UNDRR’s participation at the upcoming UNPSF and their mobilization of speakers specifically for Workshop 5. The meeting also highlighted several successful collaborative projects of 2023: The eLearning course on Risk-informed Governance and Innovative Technology for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience and the Handbook on Strengthening Resilience in Cities and Local Communities through Innovation and Digital Government, which were peer-reviewed by UNDRR.
Plans for the annual online workshop were also discussed, with this year's focus on risk-informed planning, digital government transformation, and finance mechanisms for gender-responsive early warning systems for all. Also, there was reflection on the significance of the Political Declaration of the High-Level Meeting on the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework for DRR. The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue collaboration and contribute to DPIDG/UNPOG's capacity development activities and upcoming toolkit on digital inclusion.
