Contribution to the Open Government Conference during the 2021 Korea Innovation Expo by the Government of the Republic of Korea (Seoul, 6 November 2021)

At the request of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) of the Republic of Korea, DPIDG/UNPOG contributed to the Open Government Conference, which was held in Seoul on 6 November 2021 as part of the 2021 Korea Innovation Expo organized by the Government of the Republic of Korea. During the Conference on “Promoting International Solidarity for Realizing Open Government Values”, Senior Secretary to the President for Civil and Social Agenda from the Blue House delivered the Congratulatory Address, CEO of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) delivered a Keynote Speech, and speakers from civil society organizations, academia, and international organizations, including the Korean Open Government Committee, OGP and OECD, discussed strategies and recommendations for promoting open government and shared diverse experiences and innovative practices.
One UNPOG staff participated and contributed as a panelist and highlighted the importance of promoting open, accountable and inclusive government for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and harnessing digital technologies and open government data for a more innovative and inclusive post-COVID-19 era. Participation in the Conference, which was livestreamed via YouTube, provided an opportunity to introduce the work of DPIDG/UNPOG in supporting Member States with promoting open, accountable and inclusive government and network with other speakers and participants across sectors.
