Participation in the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) Graduate School International Research Colloquium on SDGs and Futures Thinking (23 - 24 February 2022)

DPIDG was invited to participate in the DAP Graduate School International Research Colloquium on SDGs and Futures Thinking held via Zoom from 23 to 24 February 2022. Joined by two senators of the Senate of the Philippines, two DPIDG staff delivered keynote speeches on “Changing Mindsets for Achieving the SDGs” and “Effective Public Governance for the SDGs and Resilient Recovery from COVID-19" during the Opening Session on 23 and 24 February respectively. The International Research Colloquium, with focus on mainstreaming the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in local development and futures thinking, discussed a wide range of policy issues including strengthening public governance, smart city and resilience building, innovative approaches to SDG implementation and monitoring, local autonomy and SDG localization, local capacity building, and responsive public administration curriculum of higher education institutions. The Colloquium was attended by more than 350 participants from government institutions, academia, civil society organizations and international organizations. On 23 February, one DPIDG/UNPOG staff was also invited to participate in the event as a reactor to provide comments on 13 thematic presentations delivered by research fellows.
