DPIDG/UNPOG participated in the “2022 Korean Public Administration Summer Conference and Annual KAPA International Conference”, held from 22 to 24 June 2022 in Yeosu, Republic of Korea. The theme for the 2022 Summer Conference is “Green, Digital, COVID-19: Rethinking Public Administration in an Era of the Great Transformation”. With the presence of major government entities, public institutions across various fields, and international organizations, the Conference discussed opportunities and challenges inherent in digital governance, the new direction of a sustainable green transition, and the resilience of our society after the pandemic. Five UNPOG staffs have attended the conference for staff training purposes, to network with focal points of relevant organizations and to keep abreast of policy consultations especially on public service innovation and development cooperation.
On 22 June, one UNPOG staff delivered a presentation on “Digital Government Strategies for Open Government and Social Innovation” under Session 1 ‘Mission-Oriented Digital Government after COVID-19: Vision, Policies, Strategies and Practices’. The presentation elaborated on thematic issues such as i) Digital Government Initiatives to Address the Pandemic, ii) Digital Government Transformation: Vision, Policy Framework, Capacities and Changing Mindsets, iii) Promoting Open Government for Social Innovation, and iv) DPIDG/UNPOG’s Endeavours to Support Digital Government Capacity Development of Member States.
