One UNPOG staff was designated by DPIDG to participate in the PSQPIF 2022, which was organized by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) virtually on 1-2 December. The theme for this annual Forum is “Advancing Public Service Quality to Accelerate Recovery and Transformation”, which was aimed to discuss crucial factors or drivers that accelerate quality and productivity of public service delivery amidst recovery from the pandemic and emerging challenges.

 

The Forum was opened by the President of DAP and the Secretary of Department of Budget and Management. The Secretary of National Economic and Development Authority and the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment of the Philippines also participated in the Forum and respectively delivered presentations on the Top Priorities in the Philippine Development Plan and Working Towards an Inclusive Workplace in Public Services. This high-level Forum was attended by more than 500 domestic participants from government institutions, academia, research institutes, civil society organizations, and private sector organizations. The UNPOG staff delivered a presentation on Promoting Public Service Innovation for Social Inclusion of People in Vulnerable Situations and Leaving No One Behind. During the group discussions, the UNPOG staff shared with participants the UNPAN webpage hosting the UN DESA Curriculum on Governance for the SDGs, as many participants expressed strong interests in the Curriculum especially the Toolkit on Changing Mindsets in Public Institutions to Realize the 2030 Agenda.
