The UNGC country profiles aimed to supplement UNDESA’s existing data on Member States, with a particular geographical focus on Asia. The project developed a set of qualitative indicators of good governance and state capacity. It also provided an appraisal of exemplary practices in delivery of services to the public with a specific focus on human development (e.g. public health, primary education, gender equality, life expectancy and child mortality). The profiles of 15 Asian countries were completed in 2007.
