A Thematic Session on “Effective Governance and Digital Transformation for Climate Action and Sustainable Development” will take place during the 2022 United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) World Congress. This Session was co-organized by the UN Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), an integral part of the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), in collaboration with Daejeon UCLG World Congress.
The Session explored different effective governance approaches and methods to leverage digital transformation and digital data governance for climate action and sustainable development. The discussion of the Session was centred on three major thematic focuses:
- Effective, Inclusive, and Accountable Public Governance for Climate Action
- Fostering Digital Transformation for Climate Resilience
- Engaging the Private Sector in Addressing Climate Crisis
