UNPOG, in collaboration with Korea Institute of Public Administration (KIPA), organised Joint Thematic Sessions in Jeju Forum, which was held in Jeju, Republic of Korea, from 25 to 27 May 2016.

 

The Joint Thematic Sessions provided a platform to discuss how national-local institutional and governance structures can be strengthened to localize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including through the use of ICT and e-government as useful policy tools. The sessions also looked into the collaborative governance and open government as a means to enhance accountability, transparency and citizen engagement. The 2 sessions consist of the following themes:

 

(1) Government Innovation: Collaborative Governance and Open Government; and
(2) Policy Integration and Institutional Coordination: Localizing SDGs at National and Local Level

 

Over 70 participants, including senior government officials from national and local levels, experts from academia, civil society and international organizations, took part in this event.
