UNPOG visited New York to attend the 17th session of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) meeting from April 23-27, 2018. The CEPA Meeting discussed three overarching issues from a variety of perspectives, namely: (1) Readying institutions and policies for implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; (2) building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels; and, (3) supporting the transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies by enhancing and equipping institutions. The Committee adopted an input to the High-level Political Forum and a draft resolution for ECOSOC. Mr. Chung Chae Gun, Head of UNPOG, and Mr. Keping Yao, Governance and Public Administration Expert , attended the Meeting, reviewed the 2018-19 work plan, participated in UNPAN Partner’s Meeting and discussed further collaboration with other branches of the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG). Mr. Chung and Mr. Yao, with the company of the Officer-in-Charge of DPIDG, also visited Under-Secretary-General Liu Zhenmin for his guidance and strong support to the programme activities of UNPOG.
