UNPOG staff participated in the 6th OECD World Forum on Statistics, Knowledge and Policy, co-organized by the OECD and Statistics Korea on 27-29 November 2018 in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

During the Session on “Rethinking the State for the 21st Century”, Mr. Chung delivered a presentation entitled “Participatory Governance to Empower the Vulnerable in the Era of Digitalization”. In the presentation, he provided the example cases of Korean and other governments in employing digital technologies to promote public participation in policy-making and empower the vulnerable groups. It emphasized the importance of the role of government in closing the digital divide and facilitating a broader access to digital public service.
