The Head of UNPOG, Mr. Chung Chae Gun, was invited to speak at the “Internet + Public Service: Performance, Collaboration and Innovation” session during the Fifth World Internet Conference (Wuzhen Summit), co-hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province from 7 to 9 November 2018 in Wuzhen, China. The Fifth world Internet Conference was sponsored by UN DESA, WIPO, GSMA, ITU, and WEF.
Under the theme of “Creating a Digital World of Mutual Trust and Collective Governance—Towards a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace”, the Conference facilitated discussions on internet development linked with cyber security, cultural exchange, human well-being and international cooperation for 1500 participants from 67 countries.
At the “Internet + Public Service: Performance, Collaboration and Innovation” session, the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Mr. Elliott Harris delivered a keynote speech titled “Digital Government and Transformation towards Sustainable and Resilient Societies” and emphsized leaving no one in the digital society. As a panelist, Mr. Chung shared UN DESA's efforts to support digital government and introduced UNPSA and UN E-Government Survey. The experience of Korea government regarding digital government transformation was also shared with the participants.
