DPIDG/UNPOG was invited by the Philippine Society for Public Administration (PSPA) to participate in the Annual International Conference convened under the theme of “Exploring Frontiers in Governance 4.0 and SDGs: Developments, Directions and Dysfunctions” held from 7 to 9 November 2019 in Tagaytay City, Philippines. Attended by 300 participants from government agencies, academia, private sector, CSOs and international organizations, the Conference discussed the relationship between technological advancement and governance, as well as the strategies for attaining the SDGs at the national, regional and local levels. The Head of UNPOG was invited to deliver the keynote address. He highlighted the importance of governance transformation for achieving the SDGs and the new mindsets and capacities required for public servants to achieve the SDGs in the era of frontier technologies. He also introduced DPIDG/UNDESA’s Global Initiative for Schools of Public Administration on the SDGs which aims to equip public servants by integrating SDGs into the training curriculum of public administration institutes for effective SDG implementation.
