Background
The National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) of the Republic of Indonesia, in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through its Project Office on Governance (UNPOG) of the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG), and with support from the UN Resident Coordinator Office and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Indonesia is co-organizing a Training of Trainers (TOT) Workshop on Effective National to Local Governance for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Implementation in Indonesia, to be held in 11 – 13 November 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The workshop is further supported by Tanoto Foundation in financial and administrative services.
The TOT Workshop comes as response to the expressed need for capacity development by NIPA in 2024. The content of the workshop is provided by UN DESA’s Curriculum on Governance for Sustainable Development Goals. The Curriculum aims to promote a critical understanding of sustainable development issues, enhance governance capacity, and strengthen public servants’ awareness of their active role in contributing to achieving the SDGs.
The TOT Workshop will be conducted in a hybrid format where the participants from Indonesia will attend in person and invited speakers will virtually participate via the Zoom platform. The Workshop will be attended by 40 participants from Ministry/Agency/Local Government, 10 participants from Media, NGOs, & Academia and UN officials and other invited international experts and officials from participating countries, among others.
