UNPOG attended the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development from Monday, 9 July, to Wednesday, 18 July 2018. The overarching theme was: "Transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies". 47 countries carried out Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) during the ministerial segment from 16 - 18 July 2018. Mr. CHUNG Chae Gun, Head of UNPOG and Mr. Keping Yao, governance and public administration expert of UNPOG attended a Capacity Development workshop organized by the DPIDG/UNDESA from July 19-20. In the meeting, colleagues from different parts of DPIDG gathered together and discussed on how to strengthen the impact from the capacity development activities of DPIDG, how to communicate with the Member States, and how to work together as one UN DESA.
Director CHUNG and Mr. Yao also met the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the UN and Sri Lanka delegates for the Voluntary National Review (VRN) and discussed the upcoming Practitioner-to-Practitioner Forum in Sri Lanka from August 20 to 24. They also had a working meeting with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the UN.
