Reception for Diplomatic Corps in Korea May 08, 2015
President of the Republic of Korea, Park Geun-hye, hosted a reception for the diplomatic corps at Nokjiwon, the main garden of Cheong Wa Dae, the presidential residence.

The reception was attended by both ambassadors and the top leaders of international organizations as well as their wives, and from UNPOG, the Head, Mr. Lim, attended this reception.

Among the attendees were Holy See Ambassador Osvaldo Padilla, who was serving as the acting dean of the Seoul Diplomatic Corps, 170 ambassadors and acting ambassadors as well as their wives from 109 countries, 19 representatives from 12 international organizations, including the Green Climate Fund, and their wives as well as relevant Korean ministers, senior officials from Cheong Wa Dae and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the chairperson and executive secretary of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the National Assembly and other key figures from the business, culture and sports sectors.

Calling them Korea’s valuable diplomatic partners, President Park thanked the members of the diplomatic corps for their efforts to promote friendly cooperative relations between Korea and their respective countries. She also requested continued support and cooperation for the Korean Government’s trust-based diplomacy and unification policies.

Bringing together the diplomatic corps and various leaders in Korean society to meet and interact, the reception today served as an opportunity to further deepen the trust and friendship between Korea and its partner countries around the world.
