On 18 July, DPIDG/UNPOG received a Study Visit organized by the KDI School of Public Policy and Management (KDIS). The Study Visit was part of the 2022 G20 Global Learning Program of KDIS and it was attended by 33 government officials from 17 countries, mostly developing countries such as Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Kenya, Liberia, and Zambia.

During the Study Visit, UNPOG introduced i) the mandate of the office, ii) our common challenges due to COVID-19, climate change and conflict, iii) promoting effective governance as an enabler to address multiple challenges, iv) DESA/DPIDG’s Curriculum on Governance for the SDGs, and v) advancing digital transformation for realizing the 2030 Agenda. The Study Visit helped enhance the understanding of participants about the critical role of public institutions for SDG implementation as well as the importance of advancing digital transformation for delivering quality public services and better engaging citizens to ensure the inclusion of vulnerable populations. The Study Visit contributed to further collaboration with the KDIS.
