Participation in the 11th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF11) (26 - 30 June 2022, Katowice, Poland) July 04, 2022
DPIDG/UNPOG participated in a training event with thematic focuses on “Enhancing the capacity of local and regional governments for delivering the SDGs through a Whole-of-Government approach, smart cities, enhanced infrastructure asset management and resilience, monitoring & evaluation and innovative finance and partnerships” during the 11th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF11), which was held from 26-30 June 2022 in Katowice, Poland. The WUF11 was co-organized by UN-Habitat, Poland’s Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy and the Municipal Office of Katowice with the overarching theme of “Transforming our Cities for a Better Urban Future”. The training event was led and organized by the DSDG/UNOSD. This training event builds upon the outcome from previous meetings and capacity building activities that UNOSD has organized in support of the localization of the SDGs. It aims to engage representatives of national, regional and local governments, urban planners, academics, businesses, community leaders, youth, and other interested stakeholders. The Head of UNPOG delivered a presentation on “Introduction to the Whole-of-Government Approach” and the other UNPOG staff presented on “Effective National to Local Public Governance for SDG implementation".
