CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

Transforming Public Institutions for Effective Implementation of the SDGs November 10, 2016
The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), through its Division for Public Administration and Development Management (DPADM) supported by its Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), organised a workshop titled “Transforming Public Institutions for Effective Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” during the Global Forum on Government Innovation, which is being organised by the Ministry of the Interior (MOI), Republic of Korea, on 9-10 November 2016 in Busan, Korea. The Forum provided a venue for exchanging knowledge on public sector innovation, promoting good governance and sharing good practices.

The aim of the workshop was to share knowledge on innovative practices and lessons learned on how to transform public institutions for the effective implementation of the SDGs. The Workshop brought together over 50 participants from the Asia Pacific region and Eastern Africa, including high-level government officials, representatives of the United Nations, academia and other relevant organizations.
