This Forum will facilitate knowledge-sharing, while also exploring ways of collaboration among CIOs and e-Government officials. The forum discussion will also focus on the institutional framework and its constituting elements; with a view to identifying the institutional conditions for successful implementation of e-Government policies, as well as to understand institutional options.
The Forum will include a pre-recorded presentation by Dr. Nagy Hanna on… as well as a brief introduction to a draft directory of national e-Government institutions and officials (currently under development) by Mr. Patrick Spearing, Senior Governance and Public Administration Officer, DPADM/UNDESA.

This sub-session is intended as an introductory discussion into the role, including challenges of cyber security, when developing e-Government legal and regulatory frameworks. To begin the discussion, a presentation will be made by the moderator on the subject, followed by a presentation on a country level perspective.
The moderator will then guide the ensuing discussion.

9:30-11:00 VISIT TO EXPERIENCE GREEN GROWH HALL, KOREA TELECOMOLLEH SQUARE AND INFORMATION NETWORK VILLAGE(“INVIL”)
 
Two site visits are planned to: (1) one of INVILs, (2) Experience Green Growth Hall, and Korea Telecom Olleh Square.
INVIL is a project designed to reduce the digital divide among the rural and urban areas, by increasing availability of e-Government services. Building on a high-speed Internet network for each household, it improves rural livelihoods and economy, as well as communications. Experience Green Growth Hall is an experience hall where visitors can easily understand and learn why green growth is needed, the development status of Korea’s green technology, and the use of ICT in green economy. Korea Telecom Olleh Square gives participants opportunities to see and experience the latest IT trend, including different types of smart phones.
