UNPOG Head’s Mission to Thailand November 22, 2013
 
UNPOG’s Head, Amb. Lim was on a mission to Bangkok from 17-20 November 2013 to participate in 2013 Connect Asia-Pacific Summit organized by ITU. He attended the Opening Ceremony and the High-Level Panel, and he was also invited to the Multi-stakeholder Meeting and Partnership Announcements. At the Partnership Announcements session, Amb. Lim delivered the remarks, expressing UNPOG's support to ITU partnership with ADB on “ICT for Development Initiative for Asia and the Pacific”.

Furthermore, he discussed the details for establishing working partnership with ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific regarding the above project, expanding the scope of UNPOG’s collaboration to include ADB.

In addition to that, Amb. Lim built network with stakeholders at the Forum to explore UNPOG's future programme activities especially on the topic of ICT-enabled good governance for sustainable development.

Taking the opportunity, he also had a meeting with Social Development Division of UNESCAP to discuss the collaboration in regional capacity development workshop on “e-Government for Women Empowerment”. UNESCAP will develop this regional workshop to incorporate the further plan for the high-level intergovernmental conference commemorating 20th anniversary of Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.

Lastly, Amb. Lim consulted on UNPOG’s contribution to the 3rd International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS), to be held in September 2014 in Samoa, with Samoan Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
